A macadamia nut is not easy to crack! It is one of the hardest nuts in the world to crack. You need pressure of more than twenty kilos per square centimetre to crack the macadamia nut. The nut was discovered in Australia and is still very popular there. In every Australian kitchen, there is a nutcracker with a “screw system” in the kitchen drawer. The macadamia nut is delicious as a snack but you can use it in many ways, for example in ice-cream preparations.
Furthermore, the macadamia nut contains the highest amount of unsaturated fats of all nuts. Macadamia nuts are high in vitamin B1 and also contain various minerals like magnesium, phosphorus, iron, zinc and calcium. So enjoy them, but always in moderation!
